Chapter Ten
The moonlight turned the surface of the pool to quicksilver. As Grant entered the water, the muscular planes of his sculpted body gleamed like polished marble. He waded toward her slow and proud, offering a feast for her eyes. The man was magnificent. Bold, ripped, scarred by battle, and utterly irresistible.
He joined her in the deeper water, making the ripples lap against the base of her breasts. This early in the season, the water was colder than she had expected. She hoped it didnât cause that deliciously impressive length of his to shrink away and hide.
As soon as he came within reach, she ran her hands across the slippery hardness of his shoulders and wrapped her legs around him. âRubbing on each other should help with the washing. Donât you think?â
He answered by crushing her to his chest and kissing her long and deep.
Without warning, he floundered backward, and they both went under.
Lyla surfaced first, coughing and spewing.
Grant splashed up from the depths, snorting curses. âFeckinâ pond scum. Slippery as goose shite!â
Still coughing, she laughed, caught his hand, and tugged him back toward shore. âShall we try out the leaves, then wash them off later?â
âA fine idea.â With a sheepish dip of his head, he ran his other hand down his front and rubbed himself under the water. âThe waterâs chill has nay done the devilâs work yet, but it could.â
As the water level lowered, so did Lylaâs gaze. She smiled. Proud Grant worried for no reason. The sight rushed a flood of aching heat through her, and her nipples pearled into harder buttons. As they reached a mossy nest higher up the embankment, she dropped and pulled him down with her.
âYou know, they say we should savor the first time slowly,â she said, rolling to her back and reaching for him. âBut I have never been a patient woman.â
âNor I a patient man.â He settled over her and pushed in deep and hard as if welcoming himself back home. âGodâs beard,â he groaned. He slid a hand down her side and grabbed the meat of her arse, settling into a tantalizing rhythm. He stoked the dance with another deep kiss, teasing his fingertips across the slipperiness where they joined. After another rumbling groan, he lifted his head and stared deep into her eyes. âYe are mine now, ye ken? Forevermore.â
She couldnât help but smile while touching his cheek. âThat goes both ways.â She arched into him and raked her nails down his back to get him moving again. Her not-so-subtle hint worked nicely.
He pounded harder and faster as if driving his intentions home. She matched him thrust for thrust, reveling in the way his muscles rippled beneath her hands.
Time and space exploded within her. A gritty moan wrenched free of her throat as wave after wave of indescribable ecstasy set fire to every nerve ending she possessed, and even some she didnât know existed. She was no stranger to orgasms but never had she enjoyed one like this. Clinging to him, she gave in to the blinding bliss and let it wash across her.
